Morrisonville Judith Lynn Poust, 65, of Morrisonville, NY went into the arms of the Lord, on Tuesday January 8, 2013, surrounded by her loving family at Fletcher Allen Healthcare in Burlington, VT. She was born in Plattsburgh, NY on July 16, 1947. In her early years, she worked as a waitress at the Royal Savage Inn. Judi graduated from Clinton Community College and SUNY Plattsburgh with numerous degrees in Math, Science and Education. After graduating from college, Judi began her teaching career at St. Alexander's School and later was a science teacher at Stafford Middle School, retiring in 2007. Judi will be remembered by her students as the teacher who concluded the school year by permitting students to tie-dye t-shirts. After retiring from teaching, Judi managed the Fun Zone Arcade at the mall. Judi's faith helped her during her courageous battle with Ovarian Cancer. She was an active parishioner at St. Alexander's Church participating in the church choir, Harvest Dinner raffle baskets, Soup Kitchen, and Ladies of St. Alexander's and St. Joseph's. Judi's greatest joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was an avid supporter of their many activities and accomplishments. Judi enjoyed traveling with family and friends, playing Bunco and shopping! She was predeceased by her mother Rosalie (Harvey) Pearce. Judi is survived by her three children; Vicky LaForest and her husband Henry of Saranac, Eric Poust and his companion Maria Borden of Queensbury and Kari Prescott and her husband Jeffrey of Peru, nine grandchildren; Kathryn, Nikkole, Zachery LaForest, Kassandra and Kaitlyn Poust, Katelyn Burdo, Jonathan, Julia and Lauren Prescott, her siblings; Susan Snyder and her husband Kenneth, Thomas Harvey and his wife Donna, Marlene Pearce, David Pearce and Lisa Pearce, an aunt, Gloria LaPointe and her husband Howard and an uncle Charles Harvey and his wife Betty. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her. Calling hours will be held on Thursday January 10, 2013 from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday January 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. Entombment will be at Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens on the Tom Miller Road in Plattsburgh. Donations in Judi's memory may be made to St. Alexander's Church.
