Judy Marie Cook (Hart), 67, of West Chazy, passed away, Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at the UVM Medical Center in Burlington, Vermont with family by her side.. She was born in Plattsburgh on June 13, 1956, the daughter of Donald and Elma (Patnode) Cook. Growing up in Mooers, she was a graduate of Mooers Central School. She attended SUNY Plattsburgh, graduating with a degree in Fine Arts and Photography. Judy was a very creative person, always learning new skills and hobbies. She made beautiful cross stitch designs for family and friends. She was an avid reader and animal lover, especially her cats. Judy was happiest in her garden, among her flowers and vegetables. A master gardener, she was a member of the Clinton County Master Gardeners and enjoyed the friends she made in the group. Judy was a kind and giving person, always making the effort to stay connected with family and friends. A member of many organizations, she volunteered her time willingly. Judy was a member of the Fire Fighters Association of Clinton County, Fire Police of Clinton County, Auxillary of West Chazy Fire Department, Champlain Valley Classic Cruisers and a charter member and Secretary of the Guardians of the Ribbon. Judy and her husband Arthur attended numerous events with the pink fire truck and could be seen dressed as Mr. and Mrs. Claus volunteering during the holidays. Judy is survived by her husband of forty six years, Arthur Hart, a daughter Jessica Alger of Plattsburgh, sister Debra Davies and husband Kenny of Saranac, brothers Mark and wife Sue of Plattsburgh, Neal and wife Cherie of Dumont, Colorado, and Thomas Murphy and wife Nancy of Niantic, Connecticut, a cousin Gail King of Saratoga Springs, dear friend Joan Mackey of Broadalbin, Martha Kollinger of Ellenburg, and many nieces and nephews. Judy was predeceased by her parents, brother Donald Cook, foster parents Rosa and Peter Barcomb, and stepmother Loretta Cook. Judy will be remembered for her kindness and giving spirit by those who were fortunate enough to know her. Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023 from 4;00 to 7:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home.
