Judy Frennier-Ryan, 65, of Plattsburgh, left this earth unexpectedly on Monday, August 17, 2020 at the Essex Center in Elizabethtown. She was born in Plattsburgh on July 12, 1955, the daughter of John and Bertha (Rabideau) Frennier.
Judy was a passionately involved community member, dedicating over 35 years of her life to the Department of Social Services. She worked in Child Protective Services and eventually continued her work in Adult Protective Services caring for the North Country’s most vulnerable populations and doing so with a smile and energy like no other.
She was an avid crafter, adventurer, and baker, and loved to enjoy a good bottle of wine with friends and family near and far. She enjoyed visiting NYC to see her daughter, watch Broadway Shows and drink pear martinis, going to breakfast with her son and his girlfriend, and heart to heart conversations with her eldest son. In addition, she always looked forward to her Wednesday date nights with her loving husband.
Family was, is, and always will be number one. Judy was the kind of person that would show up whenever you needed someone and frequently would go out of her way to bring life to those that were experiencing tough times. Charismatic, energetic, selfless, and as most would say, quite the spitfire, are just a few words to describe the type of person she was. She was optimistic and always preached to look for the good in people.
She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Gregory Ryan, their three children, Sean Ryan, Kyle Ryan and his partner Jane Hall of Plattsburgh, and Meghan Ryan and her partner Steven Tran of Brooklyn, NY. She was a very proud mother of all three of her children. She supported them all through thick and thin, and would dry their tears and leave them with a smile.
She also leaves behind her siblings Conrad Frennier, Randall Frennier, Charlie Frennier, and Donna Premo as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom she held near and dear. She was predeceased by her loving parents John and Bertha (Rabideau) Frennier and her brother Wayne Frennier.
Funeral services will be private for her husband and children. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2020 from 3:00-5:00pm at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A celebration of life will be determined at a later date.
Facial coverings and social distancing will be required during all services and calling hours. The family has requested to refrain from hand-shaking and hugs but looks forward to sharing beautiful memories of Judy. Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh.
