June B Minckler

June B. Minckler, 78, of Melody Lane, Plattsburgh, NY, passed away on Saturday February 1, 2014 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada on June 11, 1935 the daughter of Leo and Helen (Jollimore) Cook. June grew up in Nova Scotia, after graduating high school she moved to Montreal, PQ. She was a secretary in Montreal for many years before moving to Plattsburgh in 1963. June married Robert Minckler in January of 1966, together they raised their three daughters. She later worked at Meadowbrook Healthcare in Plattsburgh, retiring in 1990. June enjoyed researching genealogy, birds, weather watching and caring for her Boston Terriers and nine grandchildren. She was predeceased by her father, her husband Robert passed away in 1990. June is survived by her daughters; Janice Madden and her husband Dan of Morrisonville, Lisa Whiting and her husband Anthony of Eastampton, NJ and Karen Minckler of Plattsburgh, her grandchildren; Ryan, Casey, Leah Madden, Kailee, Nicholas and Noah Whiting, David Ellinger and his wife Rachel, Lauren Coupal and Paige Minckler, her mother Helen Cook of Antigonish, Nova Scotia, a sister; Joan Sponagle and her husband Purvis of Isaac's Harbor, Nova Scotia, two half-brothers; Kevin and Gary Cook, a nephew Kenneth Champagne of Champlain and a friend and neighbor Helga Flatt. At June's request services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Donations in June's memory may be made to the Adirondack Humane Society or Disabled American Veterans.
