Karen “Lee” L. Derocher, 70, of Durand Street, Plattsburgh, NY passed away on Friday July 23, 2021 at UVHN:CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Plattsburgh on February 7, 1951 the daughter of Richard and Bertha (Burnell) LaPorte.
Lee worked as an assembler at Schonbek in Plattsburgh for many years. She was a member of the American Legion Post 1619 Auxiliary. Lee enjoyed gardening, plants, flowers, cooking and spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her parents and a brother Richard LaPorte.
Lee is survived by her companion of twenty-one years Steve Watts of Plattsburgh, two sons; Jamie Barber and his companion Deannie King of Peru and Jessie Barber and his companion Karen Guay of Chazy, three grandchildren; Quenton, Allie and Abby, her siblings; Caroline Danville and her husband Bruce, Joyce Baker and her husband Craig and Steven LaPorte and a sister-in-law Carol LaPorte, several nieces and nephews also survive her.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday July 29, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home.
