Katherine E "Kay" Mero

Plattsburgh Katherine "Kay" E. Mero, 96, of Broad Street, Plattsburgh, NY, passed away on Saturday November 19, 2016 at Meadowbrook Healthcare in Plattsburgh. She was born in Schenectady, NY on August 17, 1920 the daughter of Norman and Mabel (Hayes) Flemming. Kay graduated from St. John's High School. Kay married John A. Mero on October 19, 1941 at St. John's Church in Plattsburgh. She was a physical therapist assistant at CVPH Medical Center retiring after 23 years. She enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her newest family member, her great-great-grandchild Levi. Kay was a member of St. Peter's Church. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and daughter throughout her life. Kay was a member of the Elk Auxiliary, the Catholic Daughters, and the Red Hatters Society. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband John A. Mero, Sr., her siblings; Ruth Ann Garman and Johnny Flemming, her Special Aunt and Uncle, Lorena and Norman Trudeau, her mother and father in law, Harry and Helene Mero, brothers and sisters in law, Harold and Betty Mero, and Marion and Wayne Brewster. She is survived by her children; John A. Mero Jr. and his wife Lottie, Michael Mero and his wife Gail, Nancy Mero and her companion Buzz Thompson, and Robert Mero, 9 grandchildren, Mary, Theresa, David, Denise, Tracey, Michael Jr., Amy, Lisa, Tanya, 22 greatgrandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, Levi, her brothers; Ralph Flemming and his wife Lucy, and Alonzo Flemming. Calling hours will be Tuesday, November 22, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 10:00am at St. Peter's Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
