Cadyville, Katheryn "Kay" M. Louk passed away peacefully after 8 comfort filled years of care and friendship at Clinton County Nursing Home. Born 7/7/1924, graduated 1942 in the last class at Cadyville High school. She loved to tell the story of how the school burned completely in 1942 and how she helped save books from the fire. Kay enjoyed hard work and experienced many successes in her life. She was a horseshow mother and grandmother and was actively involved in local horse clubs and international equine organizations. Kay had many leadership roles in the community with being a lady Shriner of the highest degree, PTA, Girl scouts, 4-H and Methodist youth. Kay was a licensed auctioneer, dental hygienist as well as owed and operated an 8 bed private nursing home, Totem Pole Crafts and Co-owned and operated Saranac Valley Auction and Louk Trucking with her husband Bryant Louk for many years. Kay grew up on her family's farm in Cadyville where they raised horses, dairy cows and potatoes. She loved Flea markets and organized events for numerous towns and charities and was a Clinton County foster parent and fostered a son from that relationship. Kay is predeceased by her husband Col. Bryant Edward Louk and daughter Stephine G. Louk. She is survived by her daughter Dapheny Wright and husband Russell of Sarananc, NY, granddaughters Morgan Wright of Sarananc, NY, Taylor Wright of Sarananc, NY and Lacey LaBombard and her husband Brad of Chazy, NY, grandson Jesse James Ward Carpenter of Plattsburgh, NY, great grandchildren Kahne LaBombard and Kendall LaBombard of Chazy, NY, brothers Rod Gero and wife Mary of Cadyville, NY, and Joseph Gero and wife Patty of Cadyville, NY. Niece and Nephews, Joanne Gero Campbell and family of Scotia, NY, Timothy Gero and Family of Schenectady, NY, Joseph Gero and Family of Saratoga Springs, NY, Andrew Gero of Schenectady and Roger Gero of Freedom, MT as well as chosen son Reginald Burr and wife Michelle of Lisban, NY. Calling hours will be from 6-8pm Monday, June 13, 2011at Brown Funeral home, 3 Park Row in Cadyville, NY, with services following at 8pm by Pastor Michael San Soucie officiating.
