Plattsburgh Kathleen M. "Red" Coryea, 88, of Russell Barnard Apartments, Plattsburgh and formerly of the Ashley Road, West Chazy, died peacefully Monday May 25, 2015 at UVM CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born February 13, 1927 in Plattsburgh, New York the daughter of Alonzo and Pearl (Bezio) Thompson. Kathleen enjoyed doing yard work, word puzzles and jigsaw puzzles until her eyesight failed. She had worked at Plattsburgh State University College and she did private housekeeping. Kathleen was predeceased by her parents, her husband of more than fifty years Leeward Coryea, and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her brother, Richard Thompson and his wife Barbara of Plattsburgh, two sisters in law Helen Thompson of Plattsburgh, Mildred Coryea of San Antonio, Texas, two brothers-in-law; Albert Coryea of Morrisonville, Walter Coryea and his wife Nina of Morrisonville, several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Thursday, May 28, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York. A funeral service will be held Friday, May 29, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J. Roger McGuinness, Pastor of St. Joseph's Church West Chazy, officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, West Chazy. Friends wishing may make donations to the American Heart Association or the charity of ones choice.
