Kathleen A. Fresn, 78 of Plattsburgh, passed away unexpectedly at CVPH on August 31, 2021 surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Kathy was born on December 18, 1942, in New York City the daughter of Theresa (Bachinsky) and John Kolesko. She met and married Tom Fresn. In 1966, after Tom left the Navy he brought Kathy to the North Country where they raised their children and she worked for different offices and businesses as an Administrative Assistant. After her children were grown Kathy took the opportunity to go to college and received her degree in Human Services.
For the city girl that she was, Kathy made the most of living in the North Country. She always had a garden where she would grow vegetables that would then be put up for the winter, strawberry and blueberry picking made into jam and put up in the freezer; and wasn’t afraid to go camping and fishing … if the bugs weren’t too bad. In her later years Kathy surrounded herself with a group of friends who call themselves the Gourmet Grannies (Barb, Charlotte, Judy, Linda and Tammy) who had more of a social life then most people. They were known to attend local plays, go to movies, monthly gourmet meals and most notably going to Trivia Nights.
Kathy was predeceased by her parents, her husband Thomas Fresn, a brother Martin Montana and a sister Linda Sprague.
Left to honor and cherish her memory are her children: David Randall; James Randall; Susan Fresn; Terriann Fresn (Ken Simpson); Thomas Fresn (Jackie Black); Grandchildren Courtney (Aimee) Harkness, Connor Fresn, Christopher and Kyler Carlo, Great Grandchildren Stevie and Archer Harkness. Kathy is also survived by two brothers: Stephen Stanislowsky and Anthony Montana as well as several nieces and nephews.
A calling hour will be held at 9:00 am at St. Peter’s Church on September 7, 2021 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh.
