Keith W. Stay, 73, of Plattsburgh passed away on February 6 after living with Alzheimer’s disease since 2016. Keith was born in Plattsburgh on July 28, 1947, the son of Kenneth and Grace (Wheeler) Stay.
He graduated from PHS in 1965 and went to work for Theodore Stay & Sons, the family business founded by his Grandfather, where he worked for his entire life. He was very proud of the business he and his family built over three generations.
Keith was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved skiing, boating on Lake Champlain, cooking, and his dogs. He cherished spending time with close friends and family. He was kind and generous to all. He was perhaps best known for his warmth, charm and devilish grin that left an impression on everyone he met.
Keith is survived by his loving wife Sally, his son Keith (Rachel), and his grandchildren Claudia and Nathan Stay. He also leaves behind his wonderful and supportive siblings Kathleen Stay, Kenneth Stay (Deb), Ted Stay (Sandy), Steven Stay (Caron), Grace Stay (Bonnie), Ellen Gelen (Mike) and their children and grandchildren. He was predeceased by both of his parents.
The family would also like to thank the caring, dedicated staff at CVPH skilled nursing facility for their wonderful care over the last year.
