Kenneth W "Papa" Collins

Plattsburgh Mr. Kenneth W. "Papa" Collins, 73, of Military Turnpike, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2008 at his home. He was born in Plattsburgh on November 4, 1934, son of the late Wilmer S. and Bessie E. (Blake) Collins. Ken was employed by the Town of Plattsburgh Highway Department, retiring due to an injury. He cherished the special times he and Bev spent together. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, playing guitar with his friends, and in his younger days he raced stock cars. Ken especially enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren. Ken is survived by his companion, Beverly Garrow of Plattsburgh, a daughter, Lynn Caron and her husband, Maynard of Plattsburgh, his other daughters, Bonnie Simpson and her fiancé, Jay Menard of Plattsburgh, Kathleen Verville and her fiancé, Terry Brown of Plattsburgh, a granddaughter, Angie Beshaw of Plattsburgh, his other grandchildren, Alexsandra Simpson, Lauren Simpson, Caitlin Varano, Timothy Varano, Jonathan Verville, Patrick Verville, Jordan Brown, Ariel Brown, all of Plattsburgh, two great grandchildren, Christopher Cudworth, Jr., Taylor Cudworth, his other great grandchildren, Cole Smart, Zoey Revitto, a brother, Darrell Collins and his wife, Linda of Plattsburgh, three sisters, Loretta Rock and her husband, Ronald of Saranac, Patricia Blake of Salt Lake City, Utah, Madeline Hemingway and her husband, David of Altona and several nieces and nephews. Ken is also survived by special friends, Roy Smith, Bob Camp, Bill Camp and LeRoy Tyndall and the many friends Ken has touched throughout his life. Ken was pre-deceased by his parents, a sister, Betty Senecal and a brother, Stephen Collins and special friends Ronald Martineau, Charles LaMotte and Dorothy Camp. Calling hours will be Monday, April 28, 2008 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad Street, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 28, 2008 at 11:00 AM from St. Joseph's Church in Treadwells Mill. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
