Kenneth J. Peryea, 72, of Devils Den Road in Altona, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020 at his home. He was born in Plattsburgh on November 28, 1948, the son of the late Tuffield and Florence (Ezero) Peryea.
Ken was drafted and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and later was employed by the Town of Altona Highway Department for many years and served as the Town Highway Superintendent. He was active in the community of Altona and served as assessor .He was a member of the Altona Fire Department for over 47 years and also the V.F.W. He was an avid hunter and played baseball and softball until his 60’s and he loved watching his childrens and grandchildrens sporting events.
He is survived by his wife Judith (Corron) Peryea, his children and their spouses; Stephen and Shelly Peryea, Christopher Peryea and companion Rachel, Stacey Peryea, and companion Corrina, his siblings and their spouses; Harold and Sharon Peryea ,Lionel and Diane Peryea Charles Peryea , Terry Lee Peryea and his companion Tina Demers , Janice Smith and her companion Buckie Ackey,, Janet Lee Rabideau and her companion John Borlang, Crystal and Steve Bertrand , his grandchildren; Stephen Peryea II, Emily Peryea, Abby Peryea, Sadie Peryea, Brayden Peryea, and Saige Peryea, many nieces and nephews including Travis and April Smith who were special to Ken and very close friends Fred Porter and Jason Myatt.
He was predeceased by his parents and a brother Richard Peryea.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 4:00pm to 6:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 3123 Miner Farm Road in Altona. Face masks are required. Funeral services will follow at 6:00pm in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel.
Memorial donations may be offered to the Altona Fire Department.
