It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Krystol Ida Barriere, a devoted mother, cherished wife, and beloved daughter and sister, on November 22, 2024. She departed this life peacefully at the age of 59, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on March 24, 1965 in Rome, New York. Krystol lived a life filled with compassion, dedication, and unwavering love for her family. She was the heart of the home, always nurturing, encouraging, and bringing joy to everyone around her. She lit up every room she entered with her warm smile.
Krystol is survived by her husband, Dan Barriere, their two sons, Jordan Barriere and his wife Kate, and Joshua Barriere and his wife Megan. Her greatest loves, her grandchildren, Beau, Easton and Mabel Barriere. Her mother, Evelyn Garrow and partner Richard Staley. Her brothers Jeff Garrow and his wife Michelle “Sissy” and Steve Garrow and his wife Julie. Her mother-in-law, Lorraine Barriere. Her brothers-in-law, Noel Barriere and his wife Lorena, and Patrick Barriere and his fiance Meagen McCarthy. Her great friends, Nancy Rabideau and Lisa Newton and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her father Russell Garrow and her father-in-law Rene Barriere.
She worked at Social Security Administration for 33 years. She began working as a file clerk and retired as the District Manager. She touched countless lives through her work. She spent time around the holidays making gift baskets filled with baked goods for her co-workers. She loved to give and never looked for anything in return.
Krystol’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved being at camp and hosting parties for her friends and family, waiting to see who would be the “show” of the night. She found happiness in the small, but meaningful moments, and found positivity in every aspect of life.
Funeral services will take place at Sacred Heart Parish of Chazy at 10:30AM on December 2nd, 2024. A celebration of life is to follow at the Rouses Point VFW. The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute or Hospice of the North Country.
Krystol will be forever missed, but will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. She taught us all the meaning of unconditional love, resilience, and the value of cherishing each moment.
May she rest in eternal peace.
