Leland J "Lee" Ladue

Leland “Lee” J. LaDue, 84 of North Farm Road, Chazy, NY, passed away on Saturday January 12, 2019 at UVHN:CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in West Chazy, NY on October 5, 1934 the son of James and Dorothy (Parrotte) LaDue, Sr.

He graduated from Chazy Central Rural School in 1954. Lee married his high school sweetheart Marjorie Latremore on June 30, 1955. Together they were blessed with three sons, Bruce, Brian and Brent.
In his younger years, Lee was employed at Giroux’s Poultry, Chazy Orchards, Fitzpatrick Construction Company, Chazy Hardware and Diamond National Paper Company. Lee was a skilled tradesman in all aspects. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Chazy, the Chazy Fire Dept. and was a Fire Commissioner for many years.

In 1970, Lee and his brother Orville purchased Chazy Hardware expanding it with services to include repairs and construction. In 1983 Lee’s three sons joined the family business in Chazy and later opened a second location in Rouses Point, NY.
He retired in 1997 and spent many years traveling and enjoying time with his wife and family.
Lee was a dedicated son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. His grandchildren affectionately knew him as “Pepe”
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Marge; sons, Bruce and his wife Gloria, Brent and his wife Kim; Daughter-in-law, Yvonne and companion Paul Seguin; grandchildren; Erin (John), Kerry, Dana, Ryan, Jennifer, Jordan (Nykole) and Abby (Joey); great grandchildren, Kylie, Sadie, Alexis, Grayson, Caleb, Wyatt and Landon; brothers, Jessie (Gisle), Orville (Gretchen), and Terry.

Lee was predeceased by his parents, beloved son Brian, and infant grandson Lucas.
At Lee’s request there will be no calling hours. All who knew Lee are invited to visit with his family on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Church in Chazy. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chazy Fire Dept. or the Chazy Public Library.
