Leo H ""Sonny"" Bushey

Plattsburgh Mr. Leo H. "Sonny" Bushey, 73, of Lakeview Towers Plattsburgh, New York passed away, Thursday, September 01, 2011 with his family by his side. He was born in Altona, New York on July 11, 1938 the only son of Leo and Irene (Lashway) Bushey. Leo married the former Marie Guyette from Massena on August 1, 1959. She preceded in death on February 22, 1997. Leo graduated from Altona Central School in June 1957 where he excelled in speech and drama. He attended Plattsburgh State Teachers College majoring in Elementary Education Teaching. He later enlisted in the U. S Air Force and was honorably discharged. He worked at the Holiday Inn in Orlando, Florida and later at the Holiday Inn in Plattsburgh. His last job was at "The Watering Hole" in Plattsburgh before becoming disabled due to ill health. Leo was also an organist for over 40 years at Holy Angels and St. Louis de France churches and played at many funerals and weddings. His parents Leo and Irene Bushey and two brothers-in-law and Lloyd LaBarge and Robert Clark predeceased Leo. He is survived by three sisters; Dorothy LaFave and her husband Bernard of Irona, Shirley LaBarge and her companion Joseph Ferrante of West Chazy, NY, Diana Clark of Westmoreland, NH, several nieces and nephews. At Leo's request calling hours and funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the family plot at Holy Angel's Cemetery, Altona, NY.
