Leo R. Jolicoeur, 67, of Plattsburgh passed away peacefully on March 21, 2017 at CVPH Medical Center, surrounded by family, friends and outstanding nurses of R5, following a short hard-fought battle with cancer. Leo, son of the late Lionel and Rita Jolicoeur was born on April 5, 1949 in Sturbridge Mass. Leo is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marion, and their three childred, Melissa (Carter) Favreau, Daniel (Emily), and Steven (Siobhan). Also, five brothers, Normand (Brenda) Jolicoeur, Jerry (Nancy) Jolicoeur, Roger (Carol) Jolicoeur, David (Holly) Jolicoeur, three sisters, Juliette Jolicoeur, Madeline Jones and Mary (Bruce) Darrach. Leo is predeceased by one brother, Frances (Marie) Jolicoeur. Leo was the proud grandfather of Darcy Avery, Hannah and Maggie Jolicoeur, Molly and Leo Jolicoeur, and one great grand-daughter, Raine Avery. Along with several nieces and nephews and many, many beloved friends. Leo attended Beekmantown high school after which he soon joined the US Navy and served aboard the USS Intrepid CVS11 for four years being honorably discharged April 1972. He returned home to New Hampshire to pursue a life long career as a truck driver. Eventually moving back to the North Country in 1978. After working for many companies throughout the years and being encouraged by his son Steven, he started his own business, Old Time Transport, which he proudly operated for the last four years. Leo loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed going up to Chazy Lake during the summer creating the "Picking Pot" for everyone to enjoy. He loved working on trucks and enjoyed restoring an old Mack with his good friend, Tim Dubrey and taking it to truck shows. Leo had a gift for meeting people absolutely anywhere and leaving a lasting memory. He could always be found at Good Guys, Big Sal's, or The Pepper handing out smiles, laughs, and stories. Although his trip may have been cut short, he made sure to live every day to the fullest. Calling hours for Leo will be held on April 8, 2017 from 10am to 12pm at the Brown Funeral Home.
