Morrisonville Mr. Leonard O. "Len" Bilow, 78, of Pine Ridge Drive, Morrisonville, New York passed away Sunday, February 22, 2009 at the CVPH Medical Center with his family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh, New York on August 26, 1930 the son of Oliver and Mamie (Tourville) Bilow. Leonard was a veteran of Korea serving in the U. S. Army. He worked at Republic Steel in Lyon, Mountain for twenty years where he had been a security guard. Leonard then retired from MetLife as a sales representative. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed going to hunting camp, spending time at his summer home on Chateaugay Lake, going for rides and being out of doors, riding his John Deere tractor, watching wild life, baseball, crossword puzzles, spending time with his family and his Wednesday outings with his son and canine friend Buffy. Leonard was a fifty year member of the Sorrell-Woodard American Legion Post in Lyon Mt., a member of St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He was predeceased by his parents Oliver and Mamie Bilow, a sister Helen Douglas and his brothers; Herb, Maynard, Gerald and William Bilow. Leonard is survived by his wife of fifty five years, Elizabeth "Betty" Bilow of Morrisonville, one son Donald "Donnie" Bilow and his wife Judy of Plattsburgh, one daughter, Brenda Joyal and her husband George of Morrisonville, a sister, Mildred Bilow of Morrisonville, one grandson Kenneth Joyal of Westville, several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Wednesday, February 25, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, February 26, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alexander's Church, Morrisonville. Interment will be at a later date at St. Alexander's Cemetery.
