Leonard Raymond Bulriss, 83, of Mooers, NY sadly left us on Friday, March 1, 2024 at CVPH, after a long battle with dementia. He was born Thursday, May 16, 1940 in Mooers, NY, the son of Orlando and Mary Bulriss. He was one of 10 children. He married his beloved wife, Carol Ann (Baker) Bulriss, on July 1, 1961. Leonard was a “jack of all trades”: A hardworking farmer, a talented musician, a gifted tractor and auto mechanic, a friendly bus driver, a skilled carpenter, and a co-landlord with his wife, Carol. Leonard was an avid NASCAR fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors. Leonard was known for his tinkering in his shop and his craftsmanship in restoring cars, tractors and anything with an engine. Leonard had a special bond with his dogs, Winnie and Princess. They never left his side. Leonard was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and son. He loved spending time with his wife Carol and his extended family. Cherished family times included playing cards, dancing, family trips, pig roasts, snowmobiling, boating, attending tractor pulls, watching his children play sports and playing guitar for his family. Leonard is survived by his wife, Carol, his son Dr. Randy Bulriss and his wife Dawn, his daughter Brenda Doyle and her husband David, his son Kevin Bulriss and his wife Jamie, his grandchildren Michelle Woodson and her husband Landon, Michael Bulriss, Liam Bulriss and Willow Bulriss, his brother Reil Bulriss, his sister Loretta Lashway, his sister Lorraine Castine and her husband Gerald, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Orlando and Mary, his brother Gerard Bulriss, and his sisters Theresa Peryea, Isabel Ashline, Lucille LaFountain, Yvonne Bordeau, and Clara Hemingway. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Holy Angels Church in Altona, NY on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 10:00 am.
