Letha E. Mitchell

Letha Estalle Cox Mitchell went into the arms of our lord January 28, 2025. She was 100 years old. She was born on October 1, 2024 near Loris, South Carolina. She was the daughter of Fancy Stevens Cox and Oren Cox. When she was 22 years old she left Charleston , South Carolina and moved to Vermont and then to Keesville, NY with her husband Roger William Mitchell. They were married in September 1946. Letha spent the remainder of her life in the North Country. Roger and Letha had three daughters : Janice Meyer, Diane Broderick and Amy Deno. She was Grandmother to : Micheal and Jason Meyer, Matthew, Sarah, Katie Broderick and David and Grant Deno. Letha liked the outdoors. She enjoyed planting flowers and tending to her garden. She loved to watch them grow and thrive. She was a devout Catholic. She believed in the power of prayer and the teachings of the Catholic Church to which she had great faith. She is predeceased by her husband Roger and daughters Janice and Diane. Letha is gone to a place the living cannot know. May she rest in the bliss of eternal peace and happiness. We will always love her. Letha lived her life the way a virtuous individual always does with quiet strength and clarity in all she did. Calling hours will be on Monday, February 3, 2025 at Brown Funeral Home Plattsburgh from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Peter's Church. Burial will take place in the Spring.
