Lillian M Decelle

Mrs. Lillian M. DeCelle, 86, of the Beekmantown Senior Housing passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at the CVPH Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born in Champlain, NY on September 18, 1925 the daughter of Joseph and Delia (Hebert) Trombly. She and her late husband, "Jake" opened Jake's IGA in Chazy which they owned and operated from 1955 to 1965. Lillian then went to work for Merkel's Department Store until 1995. She also sold real estate. Lillian was a lifelong Yankees fan and enjoyed tennis, bowling and cross stitch. She was a member of the Ladies of the Elks, Plattsburgh Lodge #621, the Chazy Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, The Red Hatters and St. Peter's Church. Lillian was predeceased by her parents, her husband Lawrence J. "Jake" DeCelle, two sisters Martha Pinsonneault and Winifred Bechard. She is survived by her sons; Gary DeCelle and his wife Kathy of Plattsburgh, Jerry DeCelle and his wife Peggy of Beekmantown; her grandchildren; Tiffany Whittington and her husband Ron; Shaun DeCelle and his companion Missy Matusiak, Eric DeCelle, Adam and Patrick Corrow; her great grandchildren; Kayleigh, Kellan, Braedan and Riley; several nieces and nephews. At Lillian's request there will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 13, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. from St. Peter's Church. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center for Breast Cancer Survivors.
