Lillian Thompson

After a long illness, Lillian L Thompson, 93, of 2023 RT 22B, Morrisonville, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Born November 17, 1927, in Putnam, CT, to Adolph and Alice (Piette) Poulin, she was married 63 years to Floyd L Thompson, and raised four children.
As a long-time employee of Grand Union, she was recognized by many in the community.
She was predeceased by her husband, Floyd; mother and father; and siblings, Yvonne Gionet, Loretta Gatineau, Elaine Kokernak, and Bill Poulin. A devout Catholic of St Alexander’s Church, Lillian’s passion was the prayer group, To God be the Glory Healing Ministry, with a highlight being a pilgrimage to Medjugorje, Yugoslavia.
She was admired and loved by many, especially her children, Leigh (Joyce) Thompson of Hanover Township, PA; Sheila (Kenneth) Blankenbush of Black River, NY; Gail (Jay) Recore of Plattsburgh, NY; Robin Thompson, her caretaker, of Morrisonville, NY; as well as seven grandchildren (Kenneth, Lynn, Robert, Michael, Bryant, Jason, and Justin), ten great-grandchildren (Tyler, Konnor, Simran, Claire, Noah, Lillian, Julian, and Lucy), several nieces and nephews, and Patty Blair, whom she thought of as a daughter.
Visitation will be on Monday, October 18, 2021 from 3:00-4:00pm at St. Alexander’s Church, Morrisonville. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 4:00pm.
The family extends their appreciation for the compassionate care of the 5th floor nursing staff at CVPH.
