Lloyd G Lapham

Plattsburgh Mr. Lloyd G. Lapham, 86, of Wallace Hill Road in Plattsburgh, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at the Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility in Plattsburgh. He was born in Plattsburgh, New York on August 31, 1924, the son of the late Leon P. and Elizabeth B. (Desso) Lapham, Sr. Lloyd served in the U.S. Army during World War II and served under General Patton in the Battle of the Bulge, where he was awarded several medals, including the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and World War II Victory Medal. He was employed at Dock and Coal in Plattsburgh and for many years as a shipping clerk for Bouyea Bakery, retiring 1986. He was a member of St. Alexander's Church. Lloyd was an excellent auto mechanic throughout his life. He was also an avid Harley Davidson rider and enthusiast, owning over fifteen Harley's in his lifetime. Lloyd is survived by his wife of 63 years, Bernice (Reid) Lapham, two sons; Arnold L. Lapham andRichard J. Lapham of Plattsburgh, a brother Milton Lapham of West Chazy, a sister Christina Miner and her husband Jerome of Cadyville, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son; Danny F. Lapham, a daughter; Evelyn M. Lapham, two brothers; Leon P. Lapham, Jr. and Norton E. Lapham, and three sisters; Marion Lapham, Shirley Caron and Amanda Tourangeau. Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 5, 2011 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
