Lloyd L. “Pat” Patterson Jr., 86, of Morrisonville passed away, Thursday, April 29, 2021 at the UVM-CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Long Pine, Nebraska on June 17, 1934 the son of Lloyd Sr. and Ruth (Post) Patterson.
Pat grew up and graduated in Cheyenne, WY. He served his country in the United States Navy in the Korean War on the USS Aircraft Carrier Lake Champlain. He was sent to Lincoln, Nebraska to muster out of his service which is where he met and married the love of his life Maxine Rigby. They returned to Cheyenne and he later attended University of Wyoming where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Finance. He was a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi Honors Society. Pat was active in Amateur Theatre and received the “Outstanding Actor Award” from Ponca Playhouse Theatre and many other awards for achievements throughout his life. He was employed by Continental Oil Company, working in Oil and later in Energy Futures where he created the first Crude Oil Futures Contract in the NYMEX. Pat moved to the North Country in 2004 where he became active in the community, volunteering at the hospital and the Literacy Volunteers. He was a past Commander and Treasurer of the DAV #179. He was a past Congregational President of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer.
He is survived by his wife Maxine, his son Mark Allen Patterson, his daughter Anne Rene Patterson, his grandchildren; Sarah Elizabeth Wasilko, Christopher Andrew Wasilko, his sister, Joan Tayloe and many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents and his sister Jacquelyn Hord.
Callings hours will be Tuesday, May 4, 2021 from 1:00-4:00pm at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow in the Brown Funeral Home, Chapel. Internment will be Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 1:00pm at Saratoga National Cemetery.
