Loretta Bruso, age 95, originally of Altona, died peacefully surrounded by her children early in the morning on August 16, 2024. Loretta was born on July 6, 1929 in Altona, N.Y. to Florence and Roy Stone. Loretta married her high school sweetheart, Arnold, on June 16, 1950. Together they raised a wonderful family and spent 69 years enjoying each other. From frequent trips to Florida, playing cards with friends and family and spending almost every Sunday sharing a meal together with family. Loretta was a wonderful homemaker that made some of the tastiest apple and blueberry pies in the North Country. Loretta worked as Head Housekeeper at the Clinton County Nursing Home for many years. Loretta was predeceased by her parents, Florence and Roy; and brothers, Nolan, Gary and Ronnie. Those left to cherish her memory include her three children, Steven Bruso of Plattsburgh and his wife Dawn, Michael Bruso of Plattsburgh, Patti Buccellato of Plattsburgh; grandchildren Courtney (Derrick) Miller, Nicholas (Megan) Buccellato , Allison Bruso, Katie Buccellato; Barbara Barcomb, sister, and her husband, Fred, of Altona; Antonia Stone, sister-in-law, of Tucson, Arizona; Eileen Bruso, sister-in-law, of New Jersey; and 3 great-grandchildren (Sienna Miller, Beckham Buccellato and Lily Bruso). Loretta’s family would like to thank The Orchards at Meadowbrook Healthcare for the excellent care they provided for the past 4 years as well as the nursing staff on floor R3 for their care and compassion for Loretta and our family. Services were entrusted to Brown’s Funeral Home, 29 Broad Street, Plattsburgh, N.Y. on Wednesday, the 21st, from 2-4. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Meadowbrook Healthcare or CVPH.
