Loretta M. Foster

March 28, 1938 — January 12, 2024

Loretta M. Foster, 85, of Morrisonville NY died on Friday January 12,2024 at home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Plattsburgh NY on Monday, March 28, 1938, the daughter of Fred and Edith (Deyo) Kelley. Loretta married the love of her life, Glen M. Foster on October 27,1956 at St. Peter’s church in Plattsburgh. She was incredibly proud to be a military wife. They traveled this beautiful country for 20 years living in Florida, Texas, Missouri, Kansas and California before retiring to Plattsburgh in 1976. Loretta was gifted at crafting and loved spending time at home bureau. She and Glen loved to travel especially to Maine and Florida. Later in life, she enjoyed her weekly visits with her sister and brother where they reminisced about the good ole days. She is survived by three children, Glen (Rose) M. Foster, Garry (Natalie) M. Foster, and Michelle (Lyle) L. Cartier, eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild as well as her brother, Fred Kelley, Jr., sister Helen (Ed) Pepper and several nieces/nephews. Loretta is fondly known as Nana to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Glen M. Foster (Poppy), a half-sister Jane Patnode, three sister-in- laws, four brother-in- laws and several nieces and nephews. The family would love to thank her caregivers Megan Whipple, Trish Cumber, Kaitlynn Sousis and Hospice of the North Country (Ashley/Katie). The kindness and compassion shown during her care touched all our hearts. She will be truly missed by all who loved her. We relish in the fact she’s with our lord Jesus Christ in her eternal resting place surrounded by the light and love of her eternal family. “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him” (1 Corinthians 2:9 NLT). Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 10:30-11:30am at St. Alexander's Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in the Church. Burial will be at a later date in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home. Online condolences may be offered at www.brownfuneralhomeinc.com In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Nana’s favorite Charities, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, or St. Joseph’s Indian School (Lakota- Native American students in South Dakota).
