Lori Ann Kashorek

July 19, 1971 — December 13, 2020

Lori Kashorek, 49, transitioned to her heavenly home December 13, 2020 at home after an almost nine year battle with cancer. Gone before her was her mother, Elizabeth ‘Jane’ Sayah, but she is survived by her father, Gerald Sayah; husband of 27.5 years, Doug Kashorek; three children—Timothy (Rachael) Kashorek, Rachel (Noah) VanMatre, and Bekah Kashorek; three who are like daughters—Madison (Caleb) Krise plus James, Akiko Asai of Japan, and Miyoko (Tetsuya) Yoshida of Japan plus Ami and Atsushi; and many other relatives and friends.
Lori was raised in Altona and was later active in FFA at NAC, graduating in 1989. A member of the Lord’s church, she taught music in many North Country school districts and enjoyed hiking and climbing mountains, having completed several challenges in the Adirondacks. She was passionate about her family, friends, students, and life and will be missed by everyone whose lives she touched. Even in dying, she taught us how to truly live.
We would like to thank the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center, Hospice of the North Country, Sunrise Rotary, and the many friends who helped us so much through 2020: Cheryl, Jack, Danielle, Sandy, Carolyn, Debbie, Catherine, Jenny, Alfred, Mary, Melinda, John, Denise, and many others.
Calling hours will be held at the Plattsburgh Church of Christ, 77 Cogan Avenue, on Friday, December 18, from 4-7 p.m. with Lori’s ‘happy’ funeral celebration there and via Facebook Live (Lori Sayah Kashorek’s Funeral Service) on Saturday, December 19, at 10 a.m. Because of Covid, safe practices must be observed and numbers for a reception afterwards limited. Instead of flowers, Lori wished to continue educating young musicians through donations to the PCSD Music Department that can be mailed to Doug (contact for address) or collected at these events.
