Lorraine J.M. Sampica, 71, of Saranac, most recently Plattsburgh, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024, at the UVM Medical Center with loving family by her side. Lorraine was fighting a year and a half long battle with leukemia. She was born Thursday, September 11th, 1952, the daughter of Donald Blier and Josette (Jeannotte) Blier. Lorraine grew up in Lyon Mountain and worked almost 30 years at Ting’s restaurant in Dannemora, NY as a waitress. Lorraine was very social and loved her job. She often spent time gabbing on the phone to friends. Lorraine loved crafting like sewing, quilting and crocheting. Lorraine was an exceptional baker and cook. She enjoyed music and puzzles physical and on her phone. Lorraine was an avid reader and would get lost in her books. Where Lorraine was most passionate was for her grandchildren. They were the light of her life and gave her unlimited joy. She is survived by her children, son, Andrew Sampica, daughter Alaina Relation and her husband Shane; grandchildren, Matthew and Chloe Miller; siblings, Donald and Sara Blier, Paul Blier and Anita Blier. Several Aunts including Joanne Gillies and Uncle’s, cousins, and friends. She is predeceased by her parents, Donald and Josette Blier; husband, Alan Sampica; son, Matthew Sampica. It is the family’s wish not to have services.
