On November 21, 2018, the Lord's Loving Son, Louis M. "Louie" Burl, 71, of Bradford Road in Plattsburgh, was called home in the presence of his loving family. He was born in Plattsburgh on February 15, 1947 to his late parents Carmen J. (Rock) Burl and Louis O. Burl Sr. of Plattsburgh. He was predeceased by an infant sister Mary Theresa Burl. He attended Saranac Central School until he was needed at home where he worked as a young teenager for many years on a local dairy farm and then at the age of 18 he enlisted in the U.S. Marines. There he served his country and fought in the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1968 and proudly received an honorable discharge in 1972. He married the love of his life Anna Marie (Yow) Burl on August 13, 1966. He worked at Rosebud Creamery of Plattsburgh for 19 years until it closed and then worked for Bouyea Fassetts Bakery for 10 years until it closed also. He then proudly pursued his High School Equivalency at the age of 58. Shortly after he started his "dream job" driving school bus for Saranac Central School for 17 years. He and his longtime bus monitor Veronica Vann of Redford, NY took pride transporting and caring for the special needs children to and from school everyday. He is survived by his loving wife Anna of 52 years, four loving children, a daughter Theresa M. (Burl) Banker and her partner Corey Wallace of Cadyville, three sons; Timothy L. and Penny Burl of Peru, Michael and Jennifer Burl of Harkness, Anthony A. Burl of Cumberland Head. He is also survived by seven grandchildren that he adored Nicolas R. Banker of Albany, Anthony "T.J." and Anisa M. Burl of Cumberland Head Joshua and Taylor R. Burl of Peru, Bryce P. and Brytyn L. Burl of Peru, Louis being the eldest of 14 siblings is survived by 6 brothers; Dana and Betty Burl of Plattsburgh, Keith and Rosie Burl of Morrisonville, Niles and Darlene Burl of Plattsburgh, Dwight and Joyce Burl of West Chazy, Robin and Brenda Burl of Plattsburgh, Preston and Mary Burl of West Chazy, seven sisters; Rosalind Young of North Carolina, Joan and Gary L. McClatchie of Plattsburgh, Sheryl and Kevin Frenyea of Cadyville, Laura and Bill Frenyea of Morrisonville, Lena and Mark Ducatte of West Chazy, Stella and Wayne Chase of Schuyler Falls, April Wright of Plattsburgh. He also leaves behind 28 nieces and nephews and 24 great nieces and noehews. He is loved and will be greatly missed by all. Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 26, 2018 for 3:00pm to 6:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. Interment will be in the parish cemetery at a later date.
