Mr. Loyal J. Lecuyer, 87 of Plattsburgh New York and most recently from St. Albans Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center passed away peacefully on August 13, 2020 surrounded by his family.
He was born in Plattsburgh October 11, 1932, the son of Loyal and Esther Lecuyer.
Loyal served in the United States Army both in Korea and Germany.
He is a life member and served two terms as Post Commander for the Veterans of Foreign War Post 309 and was one of the founding members. Loyal also served as Clinton County District VFW commander and is a life member of American Legion Post 1619.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years Florence “Midge” Lecuyer, his children; Kathy (Richard) Dabrowski, Ricky (Lisa) Lecuyer, Gaylon (Sandy) Lecuyer, Lori (Joey) Cross, a brother-in-law James Cody and sister-in-law Pearl Sorel. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, a son Louis Allen, his brothers Francis and Lawrence Lecuyer and his sister Gabriel Dukette.
Calling hours will be Monday, August 17, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday August 18, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Alexanders Church, Morrisonville New York.
Interment will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery with full military honors.
