Lucien "Bill" W Belair Jr

July 26, 1941 — April 11, 2021

On this day, April 11, 2021,
Our Heavenly Father welcomed home with open arms Lucien William (Bill)Belair Jr.

He gave us Bill, born on July 26,1941, through his parents Lucien and Rose Belair. He became a brother to one sister and 3 brothers. In the city of Plattsburgh he was raised. During his younger years he played football at Plattsburgh High School. He graduated and served our country in the United States Navy as a medic.
When he returned he worked at what is now called the old CVPH hospital in Plattsburgh as an orderly. There he met Geraldine (Cookie) Pellerin and soon after they said their vows of marriage on July 27, 1963. So now the truth is out he did not meet his bride while singing with Elvis Presley or wrestling with Hulk Hogan. Later the couple had their only child Angela.
Bill joined the New York State Dept of Correction and retired from The Lyon Mountain facility.
Bill was always great full that he was able to retire at a younger age and enjoyed his favorite pastime GOLFING!! He became quite good at it even getting a hole in one... 2 times! After that he jokingly said didn’t want to get anymore because he didn’t want to buy a round of “beverages” in the club house afterward.
Bill and his wife enjoyed many winters in Myrtle Beach. Many good memories were made there with family and friends.
Papa as he was called enjoyed being involved in his grandson’s lives watching them grow and become the men they are today. He always said how blessed he was because of our family, and we in turn loved him deeply.
Those of us that have been left behind will remember Bill for his sense of humor, his love of family and country and deep devotion to our Lord above.
Those close who went to help heaven get ready for Bill’s arrival are his loving parents, his mother in law Rose Pellerin, two brothers in law Roger and Arthur Pellerin along with several nephews and a niece.
The rest who will continue his memory here on earth are his wife Geraldine from Plattsburgh, NY, his daughter Angela and son in law Bob Blair from Saranac NY. His grandsons Joshua (Shelbey) Blair of Clifton Park, NY. Zachary Blair (fiancé Serina Hayes )of Lake Placid, NY. Luke (Antonia) Blair of Saranac, NY. Pops also leaves behind his great grandchildren, Atlas,
Chloe, Silas and Lincoln.
His brothers Paul (Hemmer) Belair of Plattsburgh, NY. Donald Belair of Duane, NY. Julia(Roy) Girdich, Middle Grove, NY. Peter(Theresa) Belair, Morrisonville, NY. Sister-in-law’s Theresa Pellerin of Saranac, NY and Josephine Pellerin of Guilderland NY. Also a whole bunch of nieces and nephews!
Thank you to all our friends and family for their prayers and support. The good vibes and prayers you sent from near and far were very much felt and gave us strength and lightened our heavy hearts. We also send many thanks to Dr. Duus and his staff who always greeted him with a smile. Also thanks you to the earthly angels at hospice, who gave us guidance medically and spiritually.
HAPPY TRAILS TO YOU, TILL WE MEET AGAIN!
