Malcolm V Gilroy

Malcolm V. Gilroy, 88, formerly of Dannemora, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016 at the UVM Health Network-CVPH in Plattsburgh with his loving daughters by his side. He was born in Dannemora on July 13, 1928, the son of the late Leo and Irene (Conners) Gilroy. Malcolm served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict and later was employed as a Correction Officer at Clinton Correctional Facility for thirty two years retiring from the Annex. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora, American Legion Post 20, V.F.W. Post 125, and the Clinton Correctional Facility Honor Guard. He enjoyed camping, snowmobiling and his family Christmas parties. He is survived by his daughters; Sheila Bond and her husband Donald of Plattsburgh, Karen Everleth of Morrisonville, 3 grandchildren; Lauren Grugle and her husband Peter, Brent Bond and Brennan Everleth, one great grandson Graham Grugle, several nieces and nephews. Malcolm was predeceased by his parents, his wife Joyce, an infant son Brian Leo, a sister Barbara Bailey and her husband John, two brothers; Terrance Gilroy and his wife Gertrude and Carlton Gilroy and his wife Eleanor. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Church, Dannemora. Interment with military honors will be at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peter's Cemetery, Plattsburgh.
