On February 4, 2023 Marc Brannigan passed away unexpectedly of cardiac arrest at the age of 52 in Plattsburgh, NY.
Marc was an employee of the Advocacy and Resource Center of Plattsburgh for over 28 years, serving as a Direct Support Professional and Recreation Coordinator. He was heavily involved in organizing and coaching the Special Olympics, and was one of four statewide recipients of the “2021 Thomas A. Maul Direct Support Professional Excellence Award”.
Marc was a 1989 graduate of Plattsburgh High School and a 1993 graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh. He was active in Track and Field all through his high school and college years.
Marc was a pop culture enthusiast, with deep knowledge and love for music, sports, books, comics, and movies. He lived the phrase; “Carpe Diem” - and shared his zest for life with all around him.
Most prominent was his love and commitment to his family, friends, and colleagues. He was selfless and genuine, devoting his time, love, and support to everyone around him.
Marc is survived by his son, Liam, his parents, Gary and Linda, his brother, Michael, his sister-in-law, Amy, his nephew, Sawyer, his niece, Celia, his godmother, Mary, his uncles, Ron and Bill, and his cousins David, Michelle, and Dan.
Calling hours will be on Friday February 10th from 4-6 pm at Brown funeral home.
