Plattsburgh Marcel J. Forgette, 92, of Bushey Blvd., Plattsburgh, New York, passed away on Tuesday July 30, 2013 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Valley Field, Quebec, Canada on July 10, 1921 the son of Joseph and Laura (Dumas) Forgette. Marcel came to Plattsburgh as a young child, growing up on South Catherine Street, he graduated from Our Lady of Victory High School in 1939. He worked at Pal Blade for several years before working at Bouyea Bakery in Plattsburgh, retiring after 36 years. Marcel enjoyed reading, fishing, music and play the Banjo and Fiddle. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Shirley Forgette and a brother Peter Forgette. Marcel is survived four children; Elsie Moore of Ohio, Sidney and his wife Betty Forgette of Plattsburgh, Darrell Forgette of Champlain and Darlia Oliver of Plattsburgh, six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two sisters; Madeline and Cecile, several nieces and nephews also survive him. Calling hours will be held on Sunday August 4, 2013 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will be at Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens in Ellenburg Depot at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in Marcel's memory may be made to the Evergreen Valley Nursing Activities Fund.
