Marie Mae Manor

Marie Mae (Sears) Manor 89, formerly of Manor Drive Beekmantown, NY passed away peacefully on September 1, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Plattsburgh, NY on June 15, 1934, daughter of Leo and Dora (Phaneuf) Sears.

Marie grew up on the family farm on the Moffitt Road in Plattsburgh, where she spent many happy years playing and working the farm, including cooking and canning which she really enjoyed, with her mother, father, brothers and sisters.

Marie was married to John A. Manor who predeceased her. She was a member of St. Peters Church and their Alter Rosary Society, the Beekmantown Senior Busy "B's", and a 4H leader for the Lucky Horseshoe. Her love of horses helped many children including her own enjoy ponies and horses. She was elected and reelected President of the Cumberland Head Fire Department Women's Auxiliary during the many years her family lived in the district.

She worked for the Beekmantown School District retiring after 23 years, as manager and cook at the Cumberland Head School. She loved working with children and enjoyed a big extended family through the later years of her life. As a Wife, Mother, Grand Mother and Great Grandmother, she remained active after retirement gardening, babysitting for working women with young children, caring for the elderly, cooking for large and small family gatherings, and sewing for anyone in need of cloths repair or alteration.

Marie was predeceased by husband John, two infant children Jonathan and Kimberlee, one sister Valida Cote, brothers Floyd, Wilfred, and Eugene Sears.

Survivors include two sons, Wayne and wife Sylvia (Hebert) Manor of Richardson, TX, Shannon Manor of Plattsburgh, three daughters Cindy Manor and Michele Manor of Beekmantown, and Kerri Uhlmeyer of Melbourne, FL. Eight grandchildren, Annemarie Manor and her fiancé Skyler Rouch (New Orleans), Jonathan Manor and his fiancé Melissa Mowry (Plattsburgh), Patrick Manor (Maryland), Kimberly Beers (Beekmantown),
Dalton Tahy (Plattsburgh), and Madison, Loren, and Josh Uhlmeyer (Melbourne) FL. Two great grandchildren, John and Treyson Reeves (Beekmantown). One sister Annette Deyo (Beekmantown), and sister-in-law Bonnie Sears (Cadyville), and many nieces and nephews.

She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday September 7, 2023 at 1:30 pm at St. Peter's Church with the burial to follow in the parish cemetery.
