Marie J.Voight, 80, of Truman Avenue, Plattsburgh, NY, passed away on Wednesday March 21, 2018 at UVHN:CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Potsdam,NY on October 13, 1937 the daughter of Clyde and Helen (Stockwell) Johnson. She was a graduate of Potsdam High School and in 1954 was the Dairy Princess for St. Lawrence County. After high school, Marie moved to Ogdensburg, New York where she was married for over 50 years to Robert C. Voight (deceased). In Ogdensburg, Marie ran for Mayor, was an avid bowler, and volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader and Room Parent. She worked for the state Unemployment Office and as well as a tech for Mitel. Robert and Marie were members of the Canadian German Club in Prescott. She is survived by her brother David Johnson. Her four daughters, Rhoda Pickering, Lisa Mitchell, Christina Voight, and Gretchen Baughn, eight grandchildren, Steven Marrone, Melissa Marrone, Kristin Jean Gardenier, Janelle Pickering, Jonathan Pickering, William Baughn, Alyssa Baughn, and Lance Tisdale, as well as her seven great-grandchildren, Bella, Shawn, Mia, Ava, Max, Viviana, and Grant. Calling hours will be from 2-4PM on Sunday, March 25 at the Beekman Towers, 50 Truman Avenue, Plattsburgh. Marie requested in lieu of flowers, donations be made to your local Diabetes Foundation.
