Marilyn Ann Baxter

MORIAH, NY - Marilyn Ann Baxter, age 74, died suddenly at CVPH, Plattsburgh, New York, on April 9, 2015. She resided at Heritage Commons Residential Health Care Center, Ticonderoga, NY. Born in Westport, New York on June 7, 1940, she was the daughter of Leo and Loretta (Stevenson) Baxter. Marilyn was predeceased by her sister, Nancy Jane Baxter in 1963, and her brother, Alan Leo Baxter in 1970. Marilyn lived most of her life with her parents in the house they built on Bigelow Hill in Moriah. She attended Westport Central School. Marilyn attended hairdressing school in Albany, NY and worked as a hairdresser for many years. She was active in the Westport Federated Church. In the summer, she loved taking care of her vegetable garden, and in recent winters, spent many hours crocheting afghans and slippers to be given to needy families. She volunteered for several years on the Town of Moriah Ambulance Squad. A graveside memorial service will be held for Marilyn at the convenience of the family in Stevenson Cemetery, Westport, New York.
