Marilyn Jane Mather

Plattsburgh Mrs. Marilyn Jane Mather, 85, of Evergreen Valley Nursing Home. in Plattsburgh, passed away Friday, May 7, 2010 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on February 5, 1925, the daughter of Sherman and Iva (Filman) Fontaine. Marilyn was a second grade school teacher for many years and was a fiber artist in her later years. She resided in Delmar, N.Y. for many years and was very active in the community. She was an active member of the Delmar Presbyterian Church. She is survived by a daughter and son in law: Victoria and John Masella of Peru, two grandchildren; J.P. of New Bedford, Ma., Maggie of Bar Harbor, Maine, a brother and sister in law, Richard and Darlene Fontaine of Spokane, Wa., two nieces ; Susan Fontaine-Corolla and George Corolla of Delaware , Robin and James Dodds of Washington. Her husband John J. Mather passed away in July of 2000. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no calling hours. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Saratoga National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be offered to the CVPH Foundation, 75 Beekman St., Plattsburgh, N.Y. 12901.
