Mrs. Marilyn Ryan O'Connor, 74, of Draper Avenue, Plattsburgh, New York passed away Friday, May 30, 2008 at the CVPH Medical Center. On August 13, 1933 Michael and Grace (Hodges) Ryan were blessed with triplets; Marilyn, Marshall and Martin. Marilyn was a graduate of St. Columba's High School in Schenectady, Ellis Hospital School of Nursing in Schenectady and Plattsburgh State University College where she received her Masters in Geriatrics. Her thirty seven year career at CVPH Medical Center included serving as the first woman manager in the Administration. She retired as the Director of Continuing Education. Marilyn served on the Advisory Boards for Senior Services Home Care, Clinton County Public Health Department Nursing Department and Advisory Committee. An active member of St. John's Church, Marilyn was a Lay Minister since 1994. She was a member of the Rosary Altar Society of St. John's Church and a Mercy Assistant with the Sisters of Mercy. Marilyn was Faith Development Coordinator, Eucharistic minister, lector and instructor with Right of Christian Instruction for Adults at St. John's Church. She was predeceased by her parents Michael and Grace Ryan, her husband, Timothy Patrick O'Connor and her brothers; Marshall and Martin Ryan. Marilyn is survived by five children; Mary Grace O'Connor and her husband Peter Fraissinet of West Danby, New York, Eileen O'Connor of New York City, New York, Michael O'Connor and his wife Jeanne and their sons Nicholas, John and Joseph of Canajoharie, New York, Kevin O'Connor and his wife Kathi and their sons Eddie and Jack of Schenectady, New York, Daniel O'Connor and his wife Kim of Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, one brother; Michael Kelly Ryan of Saranac Lake, New York, several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Friends wishing may make donations to Habitat for Humanity or Literacy Volunteers of Clinton County.
