Marilyn Anne Rogers, 85, of Truman Ave., passed away Friday, March 6, 2009 at her residence. She was born in New York City on September 17, 1923, the daughter of Ellis H. and Ethel A. (Zwieg) Barker. She was an executive secretary for several attorneys for many years and was secretary to the Judge Adjutant General at Mitchell Field on Long Island. She was an avid bowler on Long Island , in the New Port Richey , Florida area , and in Plattsburgh where she moved in 1996. She attended the Plattsburgh United Methodist Church with her family. She enjoyed poetry and writing and was published in five anthologies in the 1980's and 1990's. She was also an avid New York Mets fan and was looking forward to opening day . She is survived by two daughters and a son in law- Bonnie Black and husband Roger of Plattsburgh, Melanie Rogers and her companion Zeke Von Goldberg of Las Vegas, Nevada; her grandchildren, Kimberly Black of New York City, Darcie Black of Plattsburgh; and Kyle Rogers and his mother, Debi Tinsley ,of Van Nuys, Ca.. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Roy W. Rogers, Jr.; and a son Bruce Rogers . In accordance with Marilyn's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, March 13, 2009 at 10 am from the Plattsburgh United Methodist Church with Rev. Marion Moore-Colgan, pastor, officiating. Memorial donations may be offered to the Plattsburgh United Methodist Church Organ Fund, the Mission of Hope Children Feeding Children Program , or Behavioral Health Services North.
