Marjorie A. Wood, 87, of Morrisonville passed away on December 27, 2024 at CVPH Medical Center with her loving family and friends by her side. She was born in Hudson Falls, NY on May 3, 1937, to her parents Benjamin Morgan and Ann (Hoffis) Morgan. Marjorie attended college at SUNY Plattsburgh and settled in Morrisonville after meeting the love of her life, Lester Wood. They were married on August 31, 1957 and enjoyed 49 years of marriage together. Marjorie, known as “Uhhuh” to many, enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Marjorie was happiest surrounded by those who loved her and known for her smile that lit up every room. She was active in her church community as a member of the Catholic Daughters and for many years attended daily mass at St. Alexander’s Church in Morrisonville. Her hobbies included gardening, baking, and serving as the Assistant Historian for the Town of Schuyler Falls. Her favorite place to be was her back porch watching the Saranac River. Marjorie was predeceased by her parents and her loving husband. She is survived by her daughter Julie Evoy and husband Bradley; four granddaughters, Bryanna Simonette and husband Timothy, Kierna Evoy and husband Kyle Shipman, Elizabeth Oakes and husband Jake, and Alexandria Larsen and husband Peter; a son, Jeff Wood; three siblings, Nancy Kever, Steve Morgan, and Sue Sabin (Guy Sabin); devoted friend and sister by heart, Marlyn Pereira; and her faithful dog Benny. Calling hours will take place on Sunday, January 5th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 6th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alexander’s Church in Morrisonville. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family to purchase a tree and plaque in memoriam.
