Mark B O'Connell

Saranac Mark B. O'Connell, 57, of Standish Road, Saranac, NY passed away on Wednesday January 16, 2013 at his home. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on September 2, 1955 the son of Bernard and Thelma (Bessette) O'Connell. He graduated from Mount Assumption Institute in 1973. Mark began working for the New York State Department of Corrections, later retiring as a Lieutenant in 2006. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a member of the Northern Peak Hunting Club, where he had countless friends. Mark was predeceased by his parents and his brother Francis O'Connell. He is survived by a niece Rebecca Langlois and her husband Scott Langlois and son Colton Francis Langlois of Chazy Lake, a nephew Chris Mark O'Connell and his children, Chasidy Marie O'Connell and Zachary Taylor Collado of Keeseville, several cousins also survive him. Calling will be held on Monday January 21, 2013 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday January 22, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh, burial will be in Cadyville Protestant Cemetery later in the year.
