Martha A. Ayala, 84, of Plattsburgh, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at the Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility with family by her side. She was born in San Salvador, El Salvador on October 15, 1934, the daughter of the late Virgilio and Encarnacion (Martinez) Salinas.
She was employed for many years by the Swatch Company in Lancaster, Pa.. She attended Mass at St. Peter’s Church. She enjoyed going to the casino, playing BINGO, and dancing.
She is survived by her sisters; Alicia Salaverria and her family of Australia, Concepcion Montes Granados and her family of El Salvador, Rosa T. Salinas of Plattsburgh, Blanca McCutcheon and her family of Oregon, her son in law; Luis Paredes, her grandchildren; Luis Paredes Jr, and Alexandra Mouehot, her niece Maria Rivas and her husband Fernando Duran of Saint Constant, Quebec ,her great nieces and great nephews; Mathieu Duran, Jennifer Duran, Jessica Duran and her husband Jean Francois and their daughter Lea Decary.
She was predeceased by her husband Joaquin Ayala in 2013. Her brothers Ramon, Oscar, and Virgilio Salinas Jr. also passed away earlier.
There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 22, 2019 at 1:00 pm at St. Peter’s Church. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Assistance Center c/o SUNY Plattsburgh.
