Marvin P. “Red” Stacy, 89, of Plattsburgh, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at the UVM-CVPH Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh on September 26, 1932, the son of Ben and Elizabeth (Stone) Stacy.
Red served his country in the United States Marine Corp. Following his service, he was honorably discharged and he returned home where he became a Professional Firefighter for the City of Plattsburgh until his retirement as a Captain in 1979. He also worked in the auction business for over 50 years and US Immigration for 12 years. Red was a member of the Elks Club in Plattsburgh and Keeseville, American Legion Post 20, past member Oriental Shrine, VFW #125 and Knights of Columbus #255. In his free time he enjoyed playing golf, pool, as well as travelling domestically and internationally. One of his favorite pastimes was playing LCR with his family.
He is survived by his wife Lillian, his children; Sharon LaBarge (Keith), Kelly Adams (BJ), Alison Smith (Chris), Tina Stevens, step-children, Yolanda Bryant, Allen Sanger (Jannette), Keith Sanger (Joyce), Shevawn Desso (Felix), Anthony Sanger (Tonya), seven grandchildren, 16 great-children, 7 step-grandchildren, 11 step-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents, his first wife Pauline, great-granddaughter Sophia, and many siblings.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022 from 4:00-7:00pm at the Brown Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Peter’s Church on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 10:00am. Burial will be in the parish cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Interfaith Food Shelf.
