Mrs. Mary G. Barbell, 90, of Weed St., Plattsburgh, New York passed away Friday, September 7, 2012 at her home with her loving family by her side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. She was born in Lake Placid, New York on February 10, 1922 the daughter of Louis and Mary (Belmore) Hebert. Mary was a graduate of Lake Placid High School and was employed at Diamond Match until she married Andrew C. Barbell on March 17, 1943 at St. Peter's Church. She was an avid camper and she was a member of St. Peter's Church. Mom was a loving wife and exceptional mother. Mary was predeceased by her parents, her husband Andrew on April 24, 1985 and her son Richard "Dickie" Andrew Barbell on April 21, 1957, a son-in-law Richard Dashnaw and a sister Betty LaRobardiere. She is survived by two sons; Ira Lee Barbell and his wife Kathy, Bruce Barbell and his wife DeAnna, three daughters; Lynne Dashnaw, Deborah Francis and John Coryer, Pamela Cole and her husband Scott, a daughter-in-law Lucille Gillette, ten grandchildren; Michael and Deborah Coryer and their children Kelly, Caitlin and Dylan, Amy and Randy Miller, Paul and Monique Barbell and their children Amber, Serena and Athena, Jennifer and Jeffrey Jolicoeur and their children Thomas and Grace, Jonathan and Karen Short and their children Camilla, Caroline and Harrison, Kristina and Dale Matott and their children Jordan and Kassidy, Jason and Melissa Francis and their child, Brady, Katie Cole, Matthew Barbell, Alex Cole, and his fiancée Elizabeth Martin, a niece Linda LaRobardiere, a nephew Paul LaRobardiere and his wife Joann. Calling hours will be Sunday, September 9, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, September 10, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Church. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery. Friends wishing may make donations to Cystic Fibrosis or Hospice of the North Country.
