Plattsburgh Mary E. Durocher, 88, of Elizabeth St., Plattsburgh, passed away, Monday, August 15, 2016, at her home, under the care of Hospice of the North Country. She was born in Plattsburgh, NY on April 15, 1928, the daughter of Alexander and Dora (Monette) Bedard. Mary graduated from Plattsburgh High School and married Edward H. Durocher on August 16, 1947. Mary's favorite times were her family gatherings. Mary had a sweet-tooth, especially for ice-cream. A big part of Mary's life was the family car business, Durocher Auto Sales Incorporated, where she served on the board of directors and was an officer for over 40 years. She is survived by her 11 children; Douglas and Constance Durocher of Plattsburgh, Nancy and Harold Gohlke of Willsboro, Lawrence and Erika Durocher of Peru, Linda and Allen Whitney of West Chazy, Beverly and Brian LeCuyer of Plattsburgh, Michael Durocher of Plattsburgh, Susan and David Gubbins of Watertown, S.D., Bette Durocher and Dennis Smith of Plattsburgh, Dennis and Michele Durocher of Morrisonville, Robert and Mary Durocher of Plattsburgh, and Thomas and Gina Durocher of West Chazy, 38 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren, 4 great-great- grandchildren, her sisters, Thelma Stacy of Wyoming, and Audrey Manor of Plattsburgh, her brothers; Alexander Bedard Jr of Glens Falls, NY, Paul Bedard and Joseph Bedard, her brother-in-law, Eugene Durocher and his wife Mary of Plattsbugh, sister-in-law, Kathleen Guay of Plattsburgh and many nieces and nephews and cousins. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Edward H. Durocher, her daughter, Patricia Diane Durocher; her grandson, Stephen LaPorte; and her great-granddaughter, Tia Ducharme, her sister, Cecilia Mahoney, her brother Francis Bedard. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. A special thank you to Mary's caregivers over the years, most recently her daughter, Nancy Gohlke, Debbie Besaw, Alicia Wetherhult, Jodi Prairie, and Susan Newman. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the North Country in Plattsburgh or the American Cancer Society.
