Mary Ellen Boswell

Plattsburgh Miss Mary Ellen Boswell, 66, formerly of Leonard Avenue and most recently of Mc Martin St., Plattsburgh, NY passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at the CVPH Medical Center. She was born in Plattsburgh, New York on April 9, 1946 the daughter of William Francis and Helen (Keeler) Boswell. Mary was a graduate of St. John's Academy. She entered the convent at Mater Dei College and later received her Bachelors and her Masters Degree in Education from Potsdam State University College. She taught at St. John's School and later taught English at Beekmantown Central School and retired from there. Mary was recognized as a Friend of Mater Dei College. She was a member of The Irish American Partnership, The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International and she was a devout member of St. John's Church. She enjoyed reading, gardening and was always interested in her formers students. Mary's heart was with St. John's School, but she took great joy in Eagle Pride. She was predeceased by her parents William and Helen Boswell. Mary is survived by several cousins and many, many former students whom she considered family. Calling hours will be Wednesday, August 22, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. Plattsburgh, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Church. Interment will be at a later date at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
