Plattsburgh Mrs. Mary May Carpenter 85, formerly of LaBarre St., and most recently Rugar St., Plattsburgh, NY passed away Monday, February, 13, 2012 at home with her loving family by her side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. She was born in Plattsburgh, New York on October 11, 1926 the daughter of Lyman J. and Dora V. (Lavarnway) Howe. Mary was Office Manager and Bookkeeper for Carpenter Brothers Moving and Storage for forty years. She enjoyed reading, ceramics, sewing, bowling, square dancing with the North Country Squares, camping, traveling to Florida with friends. She was a member of St. John's Church and the Altar Rosary Society of St. John's Church. Mary was predeceased by her parents, her husband Harry Carpenter, a son Larry Carpenter, a grandson Michael Carpenter and her siblings Rodney Howe and Catherine "Dolly" Martel. She is survived by her children; John Carpenter and his wife Patti of Plattsburgh, Mickey Carpenter of Plattsburgh, Mary Sue Scors and her husband Nicholas of Plattsburgh, Jody Fessette and her husband Steve of Point au Roche, Peter Carpenter and his wife Cindy of Plattsburgh, Lori Jenkins and her husband John of Plattsburgh, Vickie Parmeter and her husband Randy of Plattsburgh, a daughter-in-law Suzanne Carpenter of Plattsburgh, a sister Theresa Robinson and her husband Charles of Watertown, a brother-in-law Earl Carpenter and his wife Joan of Plattsburgh, a sister-in-law Suzanne Conners of North Carolina, 14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Monday, February 20, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Church. Interment will be at a later date at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
