Plattsburgh Mary S. Gagnier, 86, of Foxfire Drive and formerly of Johnson Ave., Plattsburgh, NY, passed away on Monday October 17, 2016 at UVHN:CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Chateaugay, NY on February 13, 1930 the daughter of Clifton and Dorothy (Boyea) Seymour. Mary married Francis R. Gagnier on October 6, 1952 in St. Patrick's Church in Chateaugay. She worked in the Plattsburgh Middle School as the office secretary. She was very skilled in knitting, quilting and crocheting; anyone who knew her was given one of her creations. Mary was a member of the Champlain Valley Quilters Guild. Mary loved to cook for her family and friends. She will be missed by her friends at the monthly retired secretaries luncheons from the Plattsburgh City School District and the Foxfire Quilters. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her daughter, Annette Thornton. She is survived by her daughters; Mary Beth Allsop and her husband Rick of Wisconsin, Susan Jennette and her husband Kevin of Plattsburgh, and Patti Gonyea and her husband Michael of Plattsburgh, her grandchildren; Suzanne and Amy Thornton, Robert and Andrew Allsop, Sarah Jennette, and Katie Palkovic and her husband Matt, her great-grandchild Samantha Thornton, son-in-law William Thornton, and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Friday October 21, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday October 22, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh; entombment will follow at Whispering Maples Memorial Garden on Tom Miller Road in Plattsburgh. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Foundation of Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital.
