Mary E. Garrant, 84, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2018 in Plattsburgh, NY. Born in Saranac Lake, NY on July 15, 1934 to Mary and Angelo Ferrari, Mary was a resident of Plattsburgh and a graduate of Our Lady of Victory Academy in 1953 and Loretta Business School in 1954. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Donald L. Garrant, who she met at Our Lady of Victory Academy. Together, they raised four children in Plattsburgh: Kathleen Garrant (Todd) of Plattsburgh; Michael Garrant (Vanessa) of Blairstown, NJ; Susan Quinn (John) of Naperville, IL; and John Garrant (Gina) of Slingerlands, NY. Mary loved visiting and spending time with her family including her nine grandchildren who will miss her immensely: Megan (Gary) Briddell of Plattsburgh; Christopher (Bryn) Briddell of Renton, WA; Emily (Matt) Delaney of Phoenixville, PA; Joe (Meghan) Garrant of Glen Allen, VA; John Patrick, Stephen and Matt of Naperville, IL; and Lindsey and Ryan of Slingerlands, NY. She also had one great grandson, Jack Emmett, born recently. Mary is also survived by her sister, Joan Herman (Carl) of Rotterdam, and a brother in-law, Dick Garrant (Linda) of Plattsburgh, and several nieces and nephews as well. Mary & Don loved to spend their winters in Florida at Ocean Village on Hutchinson Island and enjoyed playing golf, tennis and bocce and spending time with friends. She was a proud parishioner of St. Peter's Catholic Church and a member of the Altar Rosary Society, Italian-American Club of Plattsburgh, and The Red Hat Society. Mary was a tireless volunteer of many community organizations in Plattsburgh over the years including Clinton County Hospice, American Cancer Society, St. Peter's Church and the Plattsburgh Interfaith Food Pantry. Her greatest gift was her kind, compassionate, and selfless soul and, of course, her homemade spaghetti & meatballs. Mom, you will be missed so much, go and be with Dad and enjoy everlasting peace.
