Plattsburgh Mary Long Jennings, 89, formerly of Cliff Haven, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2008 at Pine Harbour in Plattsburgh. She was born in Ausable Forks on April 25, 1918, daughter of the late Robert and Anna (Horrigan) Long. Mary was a graduate of Champlain Valley School of Nursing. She was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy, as a commissioned officer in the Nursing Corps. Mary was a Registered Nurse who worked in the Plattsburgh area for the Plattsburgh Air Force Base Hospital and for Dr. Wessel. She was a former member of Corpus Christi Parish in St. Augustine Florida and the Champlain Valley Alumni Association. Mary is survived by six children, Howard Jennings, Jr. and his wife, Laura of Cadyville, Mary Lynne Johnson and her husband, Russell of Mansfield, Massachusetts, Thomas Jennings and his wife, Diana of Salt Lake City, Utah, Michael Jennings of Plattsburgh, Conrad Jennings and his wife, Denise of Marietta, Georgia, Sheila Guizard of Wilmington, North Carolina, a son in law, Robert Mancheno of Jacksonville, Florida, fifteen grandchildren, James Jennings of Plattsburgh, Howard E. Jennings, III of Boston, Massachusetts, Elizabeth Johnson of New York City, Benjamin Johnson of Mansfield, Massachusetts, John Jennings Corker of Montreal, Quebec, Robert M. Mancheno of Jacksonville, Florida, Travis Jennings and Roarke Jennings of Salt Lake City, Utah, Catherine Jennings and Mathieson Jennings of Plattsburgh, Kristen Jennings, Kyle Jennings and Lauren Jennings of Marietta, Georgia, Keegan Guizard and Sarah Guizard of Wilmington, North Carolina, a great grandson, Noah Munn-Jennings of Morrisonville, a great granddaughter, Olivia Mancheno of Jacksonville, Florida, a sister in law, Marion Long of Rye, brother in law, Arthur Goodwin of Colts Neck, New Jersey, thirteen nieces and nephews, Mary Pat Sweeney, Robert Long, Winifred Vanummerson, John Long, Mark Goodwin, Darren Goodwin, Andrew Goodwin, Mary Beth Steferak, Judy Long, Michael Mulvey, Anne Hogle, Patrick Mulvey, Molly Weinman and twenty-four great nieces and great nephews. Mary was pre-deceased by her husband, Howard E. Jennings, a daughter, Debbie Jennings Mancheno, her siblings and their spouses, Frank and Eleanor Long, Margaret Goodwin, Bob Long, Barney and Cathy Long, Nancy Long, Alice and Randy Mulvey. Calling hours will be Saturday, April 5, 2008 from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad Street in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 12:00 Noon from the John XXIII Community Newman Center, 92 Broad Street, Plattsburgh. Burial will be later in the year in Holy Name Cemetery in Ausable Forks. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country, ADDRESS.
